Professional Biography

Professional Experience:

Andrea is the Programme Leader for the BSc (Hons) Travel and Tourism and senior lecturer. Her main role is to deliver high quality, personalised teaching and learning with undergraduates and the professional tourism programmes.  It is her responsibility to add value, promote social and cultural diversity, equality of opportunity and inclusion for the learners.  To provide academic and pastoral support to learners and always provide students with constructive feedback on their assignments and exams.  Having over 20 years industry knowledge in travel and tourism she facilitate enthusiasm to inspire, motivate and raise aspirations of the learners.   

Teaching Interests:

Andrea has number of years teaching experience at further education and higher education at levels 1-6.  She has contributed to courses ranging from core  and electives modules on the undergraduate programmes such as Fundamentals of Travel and Tourism, Airlines, Travel Agencies and Tour operations and Strategic Planning for Travel and Tourism to name a few.

Impact and Engagement

Andrea has taken part in faculty actives which is required in line with the college objectives.  Engagement for learners are embedded  within the class sessions on the travel and tourism programmes where various of actives learning activities are within the sessions and each level on the undergraduate course go on field trips such as, the  Emirates Experience  at the O2, British Airways Safety and awareness day, visits to parliament and Tower London experience to name a few.
